The Bay and Basin Music Club is holding a fund-raising movie afternoon.

Sunday, 5 September, at Hussky Pictures.

The movie The Concert will be screened at 2.00pm. All tickets cost $15 and include nibbles and drinks served from 1.30pm.

"Thirty years ago, Andrei Filipov (Aleksei Guskov) was a prodigy - once the celebrated conductor of the Bolshoi Orchestra, the greatest orchestra in Russia. Today he works as a cleaner at the Bolshoi, after being fired during the Communist era.

When Andrei finds an urgent invitation for the Bolshoi to play a concert at the Theatre de Chatelet in Paris in two weeks time as a last minute replacement, he conceives of the crazy notion: he'll round up his old musician buddies, a motley bunch of Muscovites scraping together a living as cab drivers, removal men and flea market traders, and they'll go to Paris to play one last concert as the Bolshoi Orchestra. They'll defy destiny and take their revenge! Will they make it?"
